Hello, I’m Maria del Mont
Maria del Mont Llosas Losfeld
General Health Psychologist Reg. 22169 · Psychotherapist
I work with young people, adults and couples both during periods of difficulty or change and in processes of self-discovery, personal growth and resource development.
Therapy is a space where we can pause, understand what is happening to us, and find new ways of relating to ourselves, to others and to what we are experiencing. It can also be a space for people who are not going through a specific difficulty but who want to know themselves better, develop their resources, make decisions, or move towards a life that is more aligned with their needs and values.
Each person comes with their own history, needs and particular way of being in the world. This is why my approach is integrative and personalized: I do not work from a single school of therapy or apply the same method to everyone. Instead, I adapt the process to the person and to the stage they are at.
How I understand psychotherapy support
For me, good therapeutic support combines warmth, respect and professional rigor.
It is important to feel heard and welcomed, but also to gradually understand what is happening to us, recognize recurring patterns and discover new ways of responding.
I am interested in seeing the person as a whole: their history, relationships, emotions, thoughts, body, the patterns they have developed over time, and also the resources they already have, even when these may be difficult to recognize or access.
The therapeutic relationship is an essential part of this process. I aim to offer a safe, respectful and nonjudgmental space where it is possible to explore even those things that are difficult to say or understand, while moving forward at one’s own pace.
An integrative approach
Over the years, I have trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches and gradually integrated the tools I find most useful.
In my work, I may draw on humanistic and integrative psychotherapy, body-oriented work, trauma neuroprocessing approaches such as EMDR and Brainspotting, work with different parts of the self, hypnotherapy, NLP and other experiential approaches.
For many years, meditation, mindfulness and contemplative practices have also been part of my professional journey and the way I work. When appropriate for the person, they can offer valuable tools for developing awareness, emotional regulation, self-compassion and a different way of relating to what we feel.
For me, however, techniques are tools in the service of each individual process. What matters most is understanding what that particular person needs and what they want to develop or transform.
A scientific perspective too
Before training as a psychologist, my first professional career was in science.
I am also a pharmacist and hold a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, as well as a postgraduate qualification in Health Promotion and Education.
This scientific background has deeply influenced the way I work. It has given me a curious, rigorous and open-minded perspective, together with an interest in understanding the person at different levels — psychological, relational, bodily and biological — without reducing them to any one of these dimensions.
I believe that this combination of scientific perspective, psychotherapeutic experience and humanistic sensitivity is an important part of the way I support people.
A path shaped by different cultures
I grew up in Barcelona, hold dual French and Spanish nationality, and have lived in several countries, including the United Kingdom.
This experience has made me particularly sensitive to cultural diversity and to different ways of understanding relationships, family and life.
Sessions are available in: Catalan · Spanish · English · French

If you are thinking about starting a process
You do not need to know exactly what is happening to you or what type of support you need.
We can begin by talking about where you are now, what is concerning you, or what you would like to develop, understand or change. From there, we can explore together how I may be able to support you.
